SLI Selected to Provide IV&V for an All Electronic Tolling System in Texas

Tex Toll Services (TTS), a wholly owned subsidiary of CintraUS, a leading private developer of transport infrastructure, has contracted with SLI Global Solutions (SLI) to provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) oversight services for its Back Office System (BOS) Project.  The contract was finalized on February 22, 2011, as SLI’s IV&V activities began onsite in Austin with TTS.

The BOS is a state-of-the-art electronic tolling system for three new highways currently under construction in Texas.  As TTS’ IV&V partner, SLI is assessing the Software Development Life Cycle processes undertaken to develop the BOS.  Additionally, because the BOS is being developed as a custom application for the three Concessions supporting the new highways, TTS has heightened the IV&V focus to address review of the Source Code itself.  Review of the Source Code as it is developed for the BOS Project is being conducted by SLI technical staff.  As an ISO9001:2008 certified company, further holding NVLAP and ONC authority to test electronic voting machines and health records, SLI is well versed in the evaluation of code to industry standards and project requirements.  By providing discrepancy reports and an overall narrative description of the structure and content of the code reviewed, SLI enhances the IV&V reporting to directly address the technical soundness of the product as it is developed.

The 12 month contract provides TTS with monthly IV&V Assessment Reports addressing the processes and products created by the BOS development team each month.  The IV&V reports include assessments of detailed design documentation produced each month that support the development process.  This, in addition to detailed reporting on the source code, provides TTS with accurate and complete information to ensure the BOS is built right!
