| Statement in Response to EAC Suspension of Accreditation |
| October 30, 2008 |
|
SysTest Labs has received notice from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) of its decision to suspend SysTest Labs’ accreditation as a Voting System Test Laboratory (VSTL). SysTest Labs intends to provide procedural and other technical detail and create a detailed plan as outlined by the EAC to address specific concerns. These concerns regard the testing of voting systems under the EAC’s certification program – systems which will be used in future elections and not in the upcoming November 2008 elections.“This suspension of accreditation is procedural in nature,” said Mark Phillips, SysTest Labs’ Vice President of Compliance Services. “SysTest Labs stands by the quality of its testing program, and we’re confident the company’s suspension will be lifted in a timely manner.” |
